Greg served for 20 years in the Army both on active duty and in the South Carolina National Guard as a saxophonist in the U.S. Army Band. He now serves as the Director of Music and Media at Eastbridge Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant. 

Greg earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from  Lander University. in Greenwood, SC. and a Master of Arts in Worship from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He taught instrumental and choral music in public and private schools. He currently teaches the intermediate level pipers for the CPB. Greg also enjoys making homemade instruments like cigar box guitars, PVC and bamboo flutes, and whistles.

Greg’s late wife Mary Lynn and their two children signed Greg up for bagpipe lessons with the Louisville Pipe Band for Father’s Day in 2010. He was an active member of the Louisville Pipe Band from 2010 to 2015 and joined CPB in January of 2022. The Charleston Memorial Stair Climb is Greg’s favorite community event because “It’s always inspiring and is a great reminder that every day is a gift.

"I love the pipes – there’s not much that can compare with the feeling of playing pipes when everything is in tune. Your whole body seems to resonate with the instrument. It’s also a joy to hang out with a group of people who are truly kind and generous – not to mention a lot of fun!"
